AMELIA ISLAND MUSEUM OF HISTORY
Museum retracing the history of Amelia Island, the island of 8 flags, and particularly that of the Timucuan Indians.
The human presence in the region began 4,000 years ago, as shown by several archaeological remains. This museum traces the history of Amelia Island, the island of 8 flags, and in particular that of the Timucuan Indians (there were 30,000 of them on the island and they lived from fishing) and the plantations of the 18th century. The documents are numerous and are integrated into a setting itself full of history. The museum also offers a guided tour of the historic center of the city.
