The Saint John's River Ferry, also known as the Mayport Ferry, takes pedestrians, motorcyclists and cars across the Saint John's River between Mayport Village and Fort George Island. Mayport Village is one of the oldest fishing villages in the country, and home to the largest shrimp boats in the world. This is the most pleasant and popular way to reach Amelia Island by following the Buccaneer Trail. The crossing takes about five minutes and runs every 15 minutes, Monday through Sunday.
