ISLA BELLA BEACH RESORT
Beachfront resort offering sophisticated rooms in shades of blue and white on Marathon Key.
This recent resort located on the sea front is a real bubble of calm and charm. The sophisticated decoration of the rooms, in shades of blue and white, is a favorite. You can enjoy Polynesian specialties at the Mahina restaurant, unless you prefer to pack a picnic lunch at the Isla Bella Marketplace. The resort also offers many activities at no extra charge: cycling, yoga classes, miniature golf, several pools... There's even a private beach. The perfect place to relax and unwind in an idyllic setting.

The spa staff were able to accommodate our party of 7 with very little advance notice. The spa was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The lounge was comfortable and well appointed.
And now about the woman who did my facial, Patty. She was so kind and attentive. She was knowledgeable and answered my questions without being “chatty” her touch was sure and intentional, which can only come from the combination of personal talent with years of experience. I HIGHLY recommend her. I FORGOT TO ADD THAT THEY ARE VERY FAT FRIENDLY!!
I am nuerotic and always book our rooms initially over the phone with an on-site reservation specialist, and I explained that I needed two suites that connected due to small children; we needed a kitchenette and four beds, but I was not interested in the sleeper sofa. I wanted the main floor, but they stated there were no multi-room suits on the main level, which I feel was a significant design flaw. However, they confirmed with me that this was available on the second floor, which is what we booked four nights totaling approx 13k. I expressed my concerns and asked if they could please send me the floor plan to show me the detail of how the rooms connected. I received the email with an image of the rooms adjoining. I had several emails back and forth with reservations and concierge regarding our stay. When we checked in, the reservation attendant stated that we did not have adjoining rooms and that we had no other options other than to be separated by a floor and several rooms away or to have a downgraded room on the same floor but further down the hall. This was a massive inconvenience, considering the kitchen was in the king suite, and the two-bedroom suite for the kids didn't have a kitchenette. The children were a floor away from us, which could've been avoided if they had planned accordingly for this. Worse, the front desk attendant promised to work on the issue that evening. We offered a $500 gift to the family they gave our room to for the hassle of switching. She said that she would continue working on it the next day after the guests had departed, and despite the inconvenience, we were willing to make the move with our three children. However, the front desk attendant never had the decency to call me during our stay. We were not contacted whatsoever. Another issue was the housekeeping; the following day, we were gone all day to return to our room at 5 pm, which was still dirty. When we left for dinner that evening, I was told I needed to call them back to schedule the cleaning. I would expect this poor planning and mediocre service from a resort that wasn't so expensively priced or labeled as a "luxury" with 5-star pricing. I hope this helps other like minded families.
