Rooms need a deep clean
Resort is fairly well maintained, however pool area needs work with greenery. Tall gentleman with glasses was by far the friendliest and informative. Restaurant staff friendly as well.

Overall our experience was okay. I made a mistake of booking a boating trip through them and after I booked the trip I found that a similar company with the same Eco Tour allows for children under 5 for free… I never should have trusted them, that was my mistake. They also booked it without a refund option and the weather was not pleasant but we couldn’t cancel (just make sure to not use them to book any outings… I could have saved close to $200 booking it myself). There was a strong odor of trash or sewage, mainly at the back of the resort. The pool area was nice and the pool/restaurant staff were great! Also, the landscape was beautiful but it was hard to see other vehicles when pulling out of the parking lot.

This Resort is a Bait and bait-and-switch resort. No Beverage service at the pool.
Resort Fee is the same as the food and beverage credit. The hallway carpet is filthy. No Bell Staff. You can only blame Covid for so long.

Great hotel, definitely felt like a resort. There is some construction between the hotel and Smathers beach but you can walk directly across the street from the hotel entrance, so it's not that big of a deal.

I love the hotel chain. They are absolutely great. This location in Key West is absolutely great and I enjoyed my trip to Key West Florida. Location is in a good setting environment close to local amenities in the town. The pool is good and amazing. The breakfast that you had to pay extra for was worth it in my opinion, for the extra fee the breakfast was delicious and warm and freshly made each morning costing $28 a day. The individuals working the front desk were great and assisting and helpful. I loved the room. The sheets were spotless of any holes or rips, as I did not notice anything to complain about in this review. The pillow and mattress were great, comfortable, and clean. The general design and atmosphere of the room is great and the furniture in the room is comfortable and clean. Not a single rodent in the room and was great, I like that. Overall great hotel and will be back.

This is a great place for kids! The pool is way too small!

Wouldn’t recommend . Price point is way too excessive for the experience . Room floors were so dirty and unkept that my barefoot was almost black from just 5 mins walking around . Ac in the room turned off and lost power . Roaches 2-3 inches in the room , thankfully I only booked 2 days so I didn’t bother extending . The pool was good but not big enough for the property . Bar service was good but drinks very weak for 15 bucks eat. Food bland with no flavor . Positive is the beach is just across the street however we went during a time of heavy construction . Additionally was charged an extra 194 bucks more than agreed . The positive is they are supposed to refund me my 131 buck resort fee for the roaches and ac , and the supposedly the 194 bucks is a hold . As of time of this review , neither has been credited .

I love everything margaritaville but this hotel missed the mark on a few fronts. They seem to have an A-team and a B-team….Stayed from Monday-Saturday, 5 nights. Definitely more expensive than other hotels on the island but as I’ve had such stellar experiences at other margaritaville locations I chose here. The location can’t be beat; walking distance to the beach. The grounds are beautiful, but the service is so lacking it ruins the experience. Pool was cloudy and full of trash/leaves the entire stay. I noticed things like piles of hotel towels that had clearly been discarded the night before in/around the bushes and they stayed there untouched for 24+ hours. The morning staff at the front desk, restraint, and Johnny the shuttle driver were absolutely wonderful. The afternoon staff was the opposite… did not want to working and made it obvious.
We checked in around 6 and went out for dinner. Came up to the room later and realized they didn’t have any sheets on the pull out bed nor were there any in the room, even through I booked the room for 3 people and the room has just one king bed and one pull out. I called downstairs multiple times and no one answered. Ended up having to go down and the lady at the front desk rolled her eyes and handed me a stack of sheets…. Like sorry, for over 3k you’d think they’d make the dang bed. Did not give me a comforter or blanket for the second bed so the kiddo was cold. Room service didn’t show up one day so I had to call just for fresh towels, and then on night 2 our A/C went out. We didn’t realize until the next afternoon (room kept getting hotter) and when I called, again, no one picked up. Took 4 tries just to get front desk to answer and they did not care at all…. Just a “oh…well, we don’t have maintenance on duty right now”. I wouldn’t have changed rooms or anything if they offered right now as the kids already fell asleep but at least pretend to care. Luckily it’s colder outside than it is in our room (currently 75 and rising, plus super humid) so I have the windows open the tiny bit that they will open.
Majorly disappointing. We will still have a fun vacation but I won’t recommend this resort…. So many other options.
Edited to add: last 2 days were a bit better- maybe because they were gearing up for the weekend. I recommend getting up with the sun and having coffee on the beach while shell hunting - go as soon as the dawn comes before the beach comber machine scoops away all the seaweed and you’ll see some cool stuff! Might give this resort a second chance for proximity to the beach alone…this is the nicest beach on the island.

Should out to Kate and Stephanie- they are amazing. They made our trip extra special and made the best cocktails! I would’ve given our stay five stars if it weren’t for the gentleman passing out towels. I believe his name was Carlos. I asked if I could please grab two towels and he said I’m only allowed one. I let him know my wife will be down shortly and he just scoffed at me looked the other way, completely ignoring me. Other than that I love the place. Rooms are nice and conveniently located next to the beach.

We were in a studio, and it was fine. Given the price, we expected a more up upscale experience. Staff was super friendly and the beach was directly across the street.

We stayed twice at this hotel and we loved the location: it is right in front of the largest public beach in Key West and it is conveniently away from Duval Street and the chaotic downtown area. However there is a shuttle that brings the guest every hour to downtown! Rooms are nice and the kids loved the pool area. Very nice staff!

Clean and very well taken care of and would shuttle you where we needed to go at Key West?

Our group of 10 stayed here for the second year in a row and were treated like royalty. Rooms are great, Jason at the bar made sure everyone had a great time. Pablo and Mimi made our time so special. Perfect access to the beach where we saw so much wildlife. And the shuttle ran every hour to visit all our favorite places downtown. Planning on making this a yearly trip because we have made such great memories here. Thank you staff!

The pool area is GREAT day and night. The Tin Cup Cafe is great for breakfast and well staffed. Dinner was rough, we ate 75% of our dinner before drinks arrived, but the manager gave us 4 breakfast vouchers to make it right. The rooms are not the cleanest and falling apart in places. Great layout but shower had hair in it, floor corners are full of dirt, large spackle spots on a wall, faucets wiggle, TP holder falling out of the wall, sliding door to 1/2 bath is stuck and wont close, turning off TV in living room will also turn off TV in bedroom, 2 tiny trash cans for whole place, fridge doesnt really get too cold. Also wear shoes the whole time inside, or you'll go to bed with black feet. Value of room doesnt = what you pay for.

The smallest of Margaritavilles I've been to. I picked it because it's located a bit out of the way of the craziness in the Duval Street area. But they were doing construction on the road it's on. And will be for at least another year. So, there's barriers, orange cones etc between the resort and the beautiful beaches across the street. The restaurant is small. With a very limited menu. So, I drove most every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Since I had tried everything on their menu by day 2. The room was small. I had a kitchen area. But they didn't have any plates or utensils etc. Not very sound proof. As I heard people walking by and the bar music etc very clearly. The TV suddenly lost most stations for some reason. Maintenance came. But had no explanation. And I never heard back. The air conditioning didn't turn on as needed at night time. Only during the day for some reason. I received no solution from Maintenance. I killed at least 3 palmetto bugs in the room. So, I think they may need better pest control. Anyway, I stayed gone from the resort most of the week. Enjoying all the activities Key West has to offer. Everything was only a short drive. And I rented a nice convertible. So, I enjoyed my week in Key West. I just wouldn't choose that particular resort again. Not for that price anyway. It was $700/nt.
It's probably worth around $225-250/nt in my opinion. And I travel a LOT????

It was a nice hotel. The rooms were a good size. The shuttle ran every hour up until 11:00 pm. Free shuttle to and from the airport. The restaurant on the site was solid. Drinks were good. Food was limited to one menu, and it was kind of pricey. I liked the location. It wasn't in the heart of the city. I do wish the pool area had more space. It was hard to get a chair in the sun. The staff were super nice! I would recommend.

Great family spot. Location is good, service is great at front desk and pool bar. The rooms are a really good layout for families - but the cleaning was poor, there was sandy grit throughout the unit from previous guests and the decor is showing signs of tiredness and wear and tear.
The shuttle was super convenient, although it can fill up quickly so come early if you have a large group like us! Special shout out to Jeff and Jeremy who were great drivers and told us a lot about the area.
