Fun international hostel and Motel within quick walking distance to Duval Street in downtown Key West. The hostel was clean, convenient, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Outdoor kitchen with full-size fridge and freezer, pots and pans, microwave, toater oven, bbq, etc. Staff is great ????

The Service is quite good. They let me leave my bags and use the shower before my check-in time.
It is close to the Beach and only a few walking minutes from Duval Street. The Motel itself is very Simple. I was hoping for young international people but only got cheap old people lol.
As most things in Key West, pretty expensive!

Traveling for spring break in a group of three women, we were looking for somewhere cheap and safe in Key West to stay for one evening. Upon looking at the pictures, our expectations were reasonably not high. However, on arrival, we were all pleasantly surprised at how clean both the property and rooms were. We had also booked a room with two queen beds and were pleasantly surprised to see that they had upgraded us to a room with three queen beds, including a kitchenette. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and even held onto our luggage before our room was ready so we could go explore. Excellent location as well if you’re up for a walk/short bike ride. Would recommend highly for any people who are looking for a cheap stay, or for folks who prefer spending their day out on the island and not at their motel.

Great places to stay very friendly and very clean.

This location served our purpose. We were close to a nice beach and walked to Duval daily and other area attractions. If you don’t like to walk rent a bike or golf cart close by. Our room met our basic needs. It was clean, bed was comfortable no frills but did the trick. Cleaned everyday and they take great pride in keeping the motel in good shape. The outside space is nice with plenty of sitting areas. You can have access to their outside grill. It was the most reasonably priced motel for the location. It’s not a new space for sure so if you are looking for that this isn’t for you. Staff was great. We’d stay again.

Great little cheap hotel. Probably the cheapest in Key West except for the youth hostel. The bank rooms are okay if you don't mind sharing. They have curtains for privacy. Weren't too many people when I was staying the night

Our first time at Seashell. We spent 3 days , and we were very happy to pick this place, service were great , we were in room #8, two very comfortable beds, perfect bathroom, and the most spectacular thing is the location!!!!

The best thing was the front desk clerk Hader. He was exceptionally kind to me

Clean but old room(s). Friendly staff but way overpriced at $370 for a night. We were desperate due to flight cancelation.

This little hostel was very quaint, really loved it! Parking spots were scarce which sucked after shopping with all the bags lol. But overall adorable place very clean ac worked great!!

I stayed here for 5 nights. Paid almost $100 per night for a female dorm with at least 10 beds, maybe more. This place was ok at most. It’s the cheapest place in key west which is the only reason I stayed. For how much you pay, it’s disappointing they don’t even give you a blanket with your bed. Bathrooms were fine, they were cleaned every day. Communal spaces were not too bad too, but nothing to rave about. I only used the WiFi to browse on my phone but it didn’t give me any issues. Overall this place is very meh and it’s good enough if you need somewhere to stay for the keys, however it’s criminally overpriced given how you hardly get the bare minimum. At least the location is great.

Not what I was expecting. It was... ok. The shower had good water pressure, hot water didn't run out during a shower. The fresh towels were fluffy. The fresh bedsheets had some hair that was missed in the wash and they were generally kinda damp from the humidity - the windows weren't real windows, they're just shutters in the wall. The air conditioning gets really really cold but can't make the air dry. It also spits dust. My dad and I originally got a room on the side facing the street but my dad couldn't sleep cause the "windows" made the traffic sounds really loud. He asked the manager if we could switch rooms and one had just opened up facing the courtyard so he let us switch right away. Between each guest they clean thoroughly and not only change out sheets and towels but also the shower curtain. The television was tricky to work, not all the buttons worked right so I couldn't reach the accessibility functions. The closed captions were permanently off and the audio description was permanently on. Walking distance from a lot of places.

Comfortable and affordable place to stay in Key West! You can walk from the hotel to all of the bars/restaurants on Duval, and it's super close to the beach. Staff let us keep our bags at the front after check out as well while we enjoyed our last day.

solid 4.2. very good location a few blocks from crazy duval street. stayed in a good-sized room that was very clean and has everything you need. it is not the Ritz Carlton but you are not paying those ridiculous rates either. small but surprisingly powerful air conditioner. shower was great! hot hot water and very good pressure! and best of all as a single female traveler, I felt very safe. definitely recommend.

Me and my grandma stayed only from 2/13-2/14/24 and this motel right here would be one of the biggest reasons as to why I would return to the Keys. We stayed in a private room for $235 a night during the weekdays & could not be happier. The night manager was absolutely amazing and helped in anyway he could. You can hear the others around you but to be fair no matter what anyone says this is a “party” town so it was expected but had no trouble at all going to sleep, was about a 5 min drive to shops/foods. From Orlando down to the keys we stayed in 3 hotels similar in price and this was by far the best spot we stayed. It was clean, manager was amazing, and so was the location. Absolutely loved staying here. Have already recommended this spot to most of the people I know. Will be returning.

I’ll open by saying, Key West is mostly a tourist trap and hotel pricing reflects this. Making it hard for locals (people living in South Florida) to justify coming down to KW and spending the night, if anything touch and go and stay anywhere in the middle keys for way less money, or just go back home. Thanks to Seashell there’s an affordable option, but it comes at a cost.

If you’re paying $99 for a shared bed in a coed hostel, don’t expect an awful lot of privacy. The living space is small, curtains on each bed don’t provide full coverage. As stated in the other comments there is one bathroom connecting the two coed dorms, for 10 beds. Lucky for us when we checked in a 6:30pm, on a Friday, there were only 2 other’s in the coed dorms, so 4 out of 10 beds were used at that point - not terrible to share the bathroom didn’t real notice it heavily used and it was clean. We did have a couple check in at about 10pm when we were going to bed, but they were courteous and conscious of the noise. A/C ran cold, but in the summer months I imagine this place is toasty.

I’d book here again but in the private rooms for a bit more money, other then that this place is the best bang for your buck on a quick overnighter that your not trying to spend a lot.

Also when we tried checking in, the guy behind the counter (not Peter) told us they didn’t have availability, I originally asked for the private, 2 bed room which up until an hour or two till we checked in was available. The manager made it seem like they didn’t have anything, at all, didn’t offer us the single beds.. we walked back to our motorcycles defeated trying to figure out what we were going to do, but before leaving I checked on the website and they still had single occupancy beds in shared dorms available - I awkwardly booked right then online and walked back to the check in window and checked into a hotel we’d been told 5 minutes prior was fully booked. Maybe it was a miscommunication but he could’ve offered those beds. For what it’s worth there were plenty of others that didn’t get used that night..

We were greeted by Hadar who made us feel welcome a d found the best room for our needs as two women traveling together.

The coffee in the morning was welcome and the kitchen area was well stocked. Oops, we forgot our drinks when we left. Cheers to whomever finds them.

Maintenance seems to live with a paintbrush in his had as every surface was sparkling white.
