The establishment opened in 1937 and never closed. It was Hemingway's favorite bar, and he considered himself a part owner because he spent so much time there. Today, although it is often overrun by hordes of tourists, it remains a must-see. Sip a frozen margarita or two from plastic cups while contemplating the memorabilia of the great Ernest. Some of his manuscripts have even been discovered in the walls. In the evening, there are very often bands performing on site. Atmosphere guaranteed!

Ambiance, ambiance à n'importe quelle heure. Super sympa. Ne pas oublier de boire un Dooble Papa, le cocktail préféré d'Ernest. On y va et on y retourne

Le Sloopy Joe est le bar incontournable de Key West, ambiance décontractée, pas de "dress code", concert live plusieurs soirs par semaine très rock avec des musiciens de qualité, le prix des boissons n'est vraiment pas cher et ce bar pratique l' "happy hour", 2 boissons pur le prix d'une... C'est vraiment un endroit très sympa, de plus ce bar dans sa première version, était le fief d'Hemigway qui y a même un soir de fête pris un urinoir pour le rapporter c/o lui... Il est devenu un abreuvoir pour ses chats !
