The famous tyre race initiated more than 30 years ago in Mamoudzou is one of the most anticipated events of the year.

The famous tire race initiated by Professor Jack Passe in 1984 in Mamoudzou is one of the highlights of the year. "La Formule 1 de Mayotte" (Mayotte's Formula 1) brings young people together to push a tire through the town's streets using two sticks. The 2.5-kilometer course runs from the Baobab traffic circle to Place Zakia Madi in Mamoudzou. For 10 years, it was one of the optional EPS tests on the French Baccalaureate. Over 1,000 participants (girls, adults, children, etc.) take part in several races. Ask to try it, it's not that easy!
