The road to Kawéni runs along the mangrove for a kilometre, with Hamaha Point opposite. It then crosses the industrial zone and crosses the river Kaouénilajoli (nice name). At the end, you just have to leave the ZI Nel and take the road just at the level of the former Hamaha dump (today it is a real waste sorting center), fork on a dirt road on the right and reach the Hamaha beach. From there, a half-hour walk to the end and back is possible, with a beautiful panorama over Mamoudzou and Petite-Terre.
