Church housing a statue of Notre-Dame-des-Soupirs, considered the most beautiful in the Ponta Delgada archipelago.

Begun in the 15thcentury , its construction continued in the 17thand 18thcenturies . Behind its beautiful façade and Baroque portal, it houses, among other treasures, a statue of Notre-Dame-des-Soupirs considered to be the most beautiful in the archipelago, old books, an extremely rich altar dedicated to Mary, the painting La Pentecôte by painter Pedro Alexandrino de Carvalho and, in the sacristy, moving ex-votos by sailors.
