Convent of Nossa Senhora da Esperança or Church of Santo Cristo, recognizable by its tall, square, clerestory tower.
It is also called the Church of Santo Cristo in honour of the cult that is held there at Santo Cristo dos Milagres. The lower choir of the chapel is decorated with gilded sculptures and beautiful azulejos. The monastery complex, recognizable by its high square tower with its claires-voies, has a precious religious treasure: ceiling paintings, jewellery, a reliquary, and above all the very famous statue of Christ called "Miracles" enclosed in a carved and gilded wooden altarpiece.
