A place to learn about all the stages of pineapple growth through the different greenhouses at Faja de Baixo.

With over 100 years of history, the plantation is a veritable living museum of this unique culture. Come straight to the store to pick up a brochure for your tour. The tour takes you through the stages of pineapple growth in the various greenhouses. In summer, there's a lovely shady terrace for a drink. In the boutique, you can taste and, why not, buy pineapple liqueur, among other things.

Pas de réelles explications mais le site vaut un petit détour car on découvre cette culture si particuliére. Le bar est assez sympa et on peut déguster l'ananas sous toutes ses formes! Dégustation gratuite de liqueur d'ananas!

Sympathique et étonnant . Excellente (un peu coûteuse) liqueur d'ananas, rien à voir avec celle que l'on trouve habituellement sur l'île et qui ressemble à un vague sirop .

Originalité des Açores, l'ananas sous serre. La visite est libre et intéressante, voire amusante (bébés ananas) et se termine par une dégustation d'une excellente liqueur d'ananas. Quelques explications sur un feuillet remis à l'entrée, mais le responsable n'est pas avare d'explications si on le lui demande. (anglais ou portugais et espagnol).
L'endroit est charmant, l'accueil ni froid ni chaleureux. Dans la boutique, tout y est fort cher.
L'endroit n'est pas facile à trouver mais le centre du village est assez joli et élégant, et est différent des autres.

The place is quite difficult to find, the welcome is not very warm, but it is the only plantation open to the public, then for all include cultural technique pineapple that remains a must see.
