Miradouro to observe the elephant trunk at Capelas.

Located on the north coast of the island, close to the village of Capelas, this miradouro is the perfect place to observe the popular "elephant trunk". It doesn't take much imagination to visualize the animal in the openwork rock. Its nickname, Miradouro da Tromba de Elefante, refers to the elephant's trunk, which reaches down into the sea. You can also see the elephant's ears, clearly outlined in the rock. An unusual viewpoint not to be missed!
