It is carried out by the curists, in honour of the thermal virtues of Furnas.
This religious procession is performed by spa-goers, accompanied by the local philharmonic, in honor of the virtues of the famous spa town of São Miguel. It's one of the oldest and most famous in Furnas, mainly due to the artistically-crafted flower carpets that dot the town's main thoroughfares. These magnificent floral carpets serve to express the faith of believers and are a delight for tourists who come to attend the festivities. The sick also receive an offering distributed by the parish scouts.
