SÃO BRAS FORT
This fort consists of a small bastion, whose ramparts offer a panoramic view of the bay and the Vila do Porto marina.
Built during the Spanish occupation in the 16th century to defend the town, it was severely tested by the numerous attacks by pirates and privateers who, until the 17th century, regularly invaded the land to plunder the villages. The fort of São Bras is composed of a small bastion, the house of the commander and the barracks of the troops as well as the beautiful chapel of Nossa Senhora da Conceiçao. Its small rampart offers a beautiful panoramic view of the bay and the marina of Vila do Porto below.
