CASA DAS TIAS DE NEMÉSIO - BIBLIOTHÈQUE SILVESTRE RIBEIRO
This building now houses the Silvestre Ribeiro municipal library and the headquarters of the Municipal Assembly.
This beautiful building, which dates from the 18th century, also belonged to the family of Vitorino Nemésio, who bought it in the 19th century. It was here that the writer spent most of his childhood and adolescence on the island of Terceira. Extensively renovated in 2009, the Casa das Tias De Némasio now houses the Silvestre Ribeiro Municipal Library on the ground floor and the headquarters of the Municipal Assembly on the first floor. Since 1994, a bust of the writer by the sculptor Álvaro Raposo França has stood in front of the building.
