TOWN HALL (PAÇOS DO CONCELHO)
Building in the center of the shopping district, now home to Praia da Vitória's town hall.
The present building dates from the 17th century, after its destruction by the earthquake of 1614. Its architecture is very interesting with its double central staircase leaning against the facade: travelers who know continental Portugal will recognize a style widely used for manor houses in the north of the country, at the same time. The complex, flanked by a clock tower, does not go unnoticed. It is located in the center of the commercial district and therefore today houses the town hall of Praia da Vitória.
