The Great Route Ultra-Trail des baleiniers is an incredible course set in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, on the island of Faial. With 118 km and 5,000 m of positive elevation gain, this challenging ultra-trail captures nature at its best! Breathtaking views of the ocean and the majestic volcanic crater that formed this island, as well as the historic passages of the former whalers, tell the story of this land and its people. In 2024, the race celebrates its 10th anniversary.
