MUSÉE D'ART SACRÉ
Museum with a small collection of sacred art from the Azores islands of Horta.
Opened in 2020 in a former 17th century Carmelite convent, the museum offers a small collection of sacred art pieces from the Azores islands, as well as pieces from the religious heritage of the island of Faial. Among these, a moving burned wooden virgin, rescued from an attack of corsairs who burned the whole city. An opportunity to admire the completely renovated interior of the impressive convent church. Located on the heights of the city, the small square in front of the museum offers a beautiful view of the bay.
