17 km from Horta, the Casa do Capitão is a magical place. The traditional faialense-style house, built of volcanic stone, is surrounded by cultivated fields, threshing floors, fruit trees, animal pens and pastures. An oasis of peace and tranquility. Jorge, the owner (who speaks perfect French), is inexhaustible when it comes to extolling the delights of the Isle Bleue. He's also a marvellous decorator, as evidenced by the shimmering colors of this property. Not to be missed!
