Le Pico de l'ile du même nom est le point culminant du Portugal.
Son ascension est une randonnée agréable d'une journée. Le site est payant et limité. On reçoit une balise GPS (20€) 1200m de dénivelé. Vue fabuleuse du haut du volcan. Il y a encore des vapeurs de soufre. A faire par beau temps
