An interesting visit to learn more about the steps involved in making Pico wine. Tastings are a delight, and we're delighted to (finally) be able to visit the store! It was in the early 1950s that a group of winegrowers decided to create the wine cooperative. Today, the cooperative has around 250 member producers, making it the largest in the Azores. The grapes are harvested by hand, and the vineyards have been listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site since 2004.
