CENTRE FOR MARINE ARTS AND SCIENCES
Museum to see a permanent exhibition, as well as projections on the factory and its activities.
This former factory, which began operations in 1955 under the name Société de l'industrie baleinière insulaire, has been reclaimed and transformed into a museum. Opened in 2008, it features a permanent exhibition, "Giants of the Sea", as well as projections on the factory and its activities. The sea and whaling play an important role on the island of Pico, so it's worth visiting this center to gain a better understanding of its traditions.
