Church built in the century as part of the former Franciscan convent in Velas.
Built in the 18th century, it was part of the former Franciscan convent. Inside, the nave is adorned with carved and gilded wooden sculptures. The cornices are made of black lava. The church underwent a major restoration process in the early 20th century and is currently under the care of the Irmandade da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Velas. Access to the building is free, so if it's open, take a few minutes.
