CHURCH OF SÃO BOAVENTURA
Church featuring a beautiful Baroque façade, remarkable for its carved wooden ornamentation and two white domes.
It was built following a vow by a very pious family. Begun in 1640, its final construction took 114 years. Changing hands several times as the convent was sold, it was used as a hospital for almost a century. The building, with its handsome Baroque façade, is particularly noteworthy for its carved wooden ornamentation and two white domes. The ceiling, vaulted in painted cedar, is decorated with plant and allegorical motifs. A remarkable16th-century panel depicts the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary.
