Recruited on American whaling ships in the 19th century, the men of Corvo first met Scottish sailors who taught them how to make their famous traditional bonnet, complete with pom-pom. Little by little, it was worn by every man on the island. When it fell into disuse, one woman decided to bring it back to life. It's Rosa who is once again knitting these friendly "barretas" in pure sheep's wool, traditionally indigo blue with white motifs. An authentic souvenir to bring back from your stay in Corvo.
