This line was painstakingly designed in the second half of the 19th century. Over 335 km, the train crosses 58 bridges, 69 tunnels and 1,154 bends. Highest point: 4,818 m above sea level! This mythical route even inspired The Temple of the Sun. Only "tourist class" passengers have access to the open-air bar car (ideal for photos). 12-hour journey, including breakfast and lunch. Service was due to resume, but there were no certainties.
