CANTA RANA
This Argentinian has made a brilliant transition to Peruvian cuisine (fish, shellfish and the excellent ceviche mixto are a must) and maintains a popular atmosphere in his bistro-restaurant, despite rising prices. On weekends, queues line the street. Once you've settled in, you're "glued in tight" in a hallucinating decor of posters, family photos and press clippings from floor to ceiling. Canta Ranita (the son's), at the far end of the neighborhood market, is also an excellent local address "in its juice". Excellent!
