FIESTA DE SANTA ROSA

The patron saint of the Americas is celebrated in Lima, where people take the opportunity to make a wish, or in Lamas, a small village in the northern jungle.
Santa Rosa marks a holiday in the Peruvian calendar. In Lima, one can attend a pilgrimage to the Santa Rosa Church in the historical center, in homage to the patron saint of the Americas. The faithful throw their letters of vows into a well located in the courtyard in front of the church of the same name. Near Tarapoto, in the traditional village of Lamas, a folkloric carnival is celebrated with colors and music (small local flutes and drums) in honor of the patron saint of the village. The Lamista culture is a tradition that deserves a visit.
