This elegant town hall has a neo-colonial façade and Renaissance interiors. From its balconies, members of the Town Hall attended bullfights and processions in the Plaza Mayor. It was rebuilt several times, especially after the earthquake of 1746. The mayor, Eduardo Dibós Dammert, ordered the construction of the building that can still be seen today, inaugurated in 1944. The town hall also houses a superb library with 18,000 books.
