The Casa de Riva Agüero is owned by the Catholic University. It bears the name of its last owner. Elegant, with its two patios and wrought iron gate, it houses the Museo de Arte y Tradición Popular (open Monday to Friday from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 7pm; S/ 2) which presents an interesting collection of popular artworks (altarpieces, crucifixes, masks... from the sierra). The Riva Agüero Institute was created in 1947 to defend the investigation and to promote the Peruvian culture. There is also an elegant library.
