Morro Solar is a promontory overlooking the bay of Lima. Morro Solar is notable for being a site of the battle of San Juan and Chorrillos between Peruvian and Chilean forces in 1881. Today it can be seen from afar, as it is topped by a cross that glows at night and below it is a colorful Christ. To get there, you will need a taxi. On site you will also find the Planetarium of Lima (apa.com.pe) and of course a 360° view of the bay. It is also a playground for mountain bikes especially on weekends.
