MERCADO CENTRAL
This market extends over several cuadras, not far from the historic center and Chinatown, on the other side of Abancay Avenue. It's a veritable labyrinth for anyone venturing in without the help of a Limenian! It's the city's black market, and you'll find everything from watches, cigarettes and jewelry to glasses, bags and sneakers... but there are also more traditional stalls selling fruit and vegetables, meat, fish and fruit juices. It's a gigantic maze where you're advised to be on your guard, but it's a real plunge into popular Lima.
