Architectural complex of the XVII century that housed the Jesuit Novitiate San Antonio Abad and the first National University of San Marcos, specialized in Humanities and one of the most famous in Peru. It is one of the oldest in the continent, founded on May 12, 1551, and the place has been nicely renovated and can be visited. There is a baroque chapel, a neoclassical lounge, five colonial patios and a café-restaurant to take a break. Some famous names have passed through here: Cesar Vallejo, José Carlos Mariategui or Mario Vargas Llosa.
