PLAZA DE ARMAS
A pretty square, very shaded, closed on one side by some casonas, it is the nerve centre of the meetings, either on the benches in the centre, or under the high facade, only vestige of the stricken cathedral. On the side, the church of the Matiz which shelters a small museum, the Museo Contisuyo and its small collection of objects dating from the Andean culture Wari-Tiahuanaco and the Inca civilization. In the center of the square stands the monumental fountain of the Three Graces, toads and water-spitting swans, designed by Eiffel.
