Moquegua is home to many casonas. Don't miss the beautiful and photogenic casonas that line the Plaza Belén: their facades are still very well preserved! Also worth seeing: the Casa de la Familia Alayza (Jirón Ancash 198), which dates from the 18th century in a purely colonial style, as well as the Casa de los Fernandez Cornejo y Córdoba (plaza de Armas), which has a long wooden balcony on the front. The Posada de la Casa Chocano (Jirón Ancash 418) is more sober and intimate, and now serves as a store.
