PLAZA DE ARMAS
Go there and contact
It is not a real square, but rather an extension of Avenida San Martín. A horrible monument, el Arco Parabolico (an arch made of pink stone), erected to the glory of Bolognesi and Grau, heroes of the Pacific War, disfigures it. The fountain, designed by Eiffel, makes up for the mess. We advise you to go there at the weekend, because every Sunday morning you can attend the military parades with the raising of the flag. This brings some animation to this huge square. Afterwards, take a walk under the palm trees of the Paseo Cívico, very pleasant.
