In this sumptuous colonial house of white volcanic stone, you can order without hesitation alpaca, lamb, beef, Andean trout or Amazonian fish cooked on lava stone or, more classic, one of the different carpaccios. All these dishes are generously accompanied by potatoes or quinoa and a small salad or ratatouille. Save room for one of the delicious homemade desserts. At lunchtime, several menus are offered at good prices. Excellent table and impeccable service. Not to be missed!

We had a fantastic experience at Zig Zag. We didn’t have a booking but they were able to fit us in (we went early, 6pm). The food was delicious, we tried the trout carpaccio for entree (yum!), and for the main, the meat sharing plate, which included four types of meat, two side dishes (potato/quinoa) and two accompaniments (vegetables/salad). The meat came out on a hot plate, we ordered medium-rare and it came out perfectly, but because the plate was hot you could cook it a bit further if you wished. Great selection of cocktails and wine, including the option for 375ml bottle, perfect for when you don’t want just a glass but not a whole bottle either! Service was great, very fast, efficient and friendly. My dietary requirement (gluten-free) was easily catered for. And the dessert… absolutely delicious. Go hungry because you will want all three courses!

Desde la comida hasta el mozo, todo muy bien. Precios que yo creo asequibles. Mucha variedad de platos y vinos. Quizás la vista podría mejorar un poco.

We shared the especial three-meat platter on the hot stone, with roasted potatoes and the ratatouille. We had the meat cooked medium, and I'd say it was medium-rare. Kudos to the chef; he did it just right. Delicious. If my wife wasn't with me, I would have licked the juice off the plate. We also had pisco sours. They're the only ones we have had in Peru so far, so I can't really compare, but I can say that if this cocktail was $20 in the US, every customer would feel like they got the better part of the deal.
