The Casa de la Moneda dates from 1794. Its owners, the Marquises of Quiroz, modestly had the motto "After God, Quiroz" engraved on the door of their splendid home. This building was only used for minting for a few years (from 1836 to 1841). The building, made of volcanic stone, is magnificent and worth a visit. It is now owned by the Casa Andina hotel chain, which has turned it into a luxury hotel. Do not hesitate to ask to enter at least to see the pretty patio all tiled and decorated with taste.
