In Puno, this date is used to celebrate the legendary foundation of the Inca Empire. On the program: re-enactment of the birth of Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo who emerged from the waters of the Titicaca. The city itself is not to be outdone and organizes a parade of traditional dances which is reminiscent of the most famous festival of the region, that of Candelaria in February, as well as a big concert and a gastronomic fair. In short, it is an important date in the region and allows one to immerse oneself in a folklore that is still alive.
