IGLESIA SANTIAGO APÓSTOL
The 17th century baroque church, Santiago Apostol, justifies in itself the detour by this small village that is Lampa. Unlike the cathedral of Puno, here the nave and its altarpieces are worth the façade. So don't hesitate and go in! The church houses one of the two copies of Michelangelo's Pietà that the continent has. In the crypt, to which you descend by a narrow staircase, the walls are covered with skeletons. Surprising. They would belong to the builders of the monument. The sacristan has custody of the keys.
