The building was the monastery of San Antonio Abad, built in 1592 and is now one of the most beautiful hotels in Peru. The luxurious rooms are of perfect taste (combining colonial charm with comfort), and there is the deep calm of ethereal spheres. The rooms on the first patio are more traditional. The buffet breakfast is a highlight. The Illary restaurant is one of the best in town. Oxygen in room at extra charge. Spa. Belmond also owns the Palacio Nazarenas, next door. The hotel is one block from the place d'armes.
However it is at least a strangely small suite for level inform before taking one.
