Discover the Cusqueñan Santons at this open-air fair to soak up the spirit of Christmas and its local folklore.
In Cusco, the great artisanal celebration of Santurantikuy takes shape. All kinds of figurines are offered to brighten up the night of Christmas Eve, as well as terracotta objects, but also ceramics and wooden objects. A sort of Santon festival with a Quechua twist. The best pieces of handicraft are rewarded in a competition. At nightfall one drinks the ponche caliente made of dried beans or quinoa, very sweet and enhanced with a generous dose of pisco or brandy to fight against the cold. Merry Christmas!
