This human-sized Spanish school is located along the hill that connects the historic center with the San Blas neighborhood. Here you will learn Spanish in a friendly atmosphere. You can choose private lessons or small groups (maximum 4 students). Everything is included, no registration fee, materials provided. They can also connect you to volunteer work or take you on excursions to test your Spanish in the field.

The most amazing experience. I spent 3 months at this school, and felt as if I was leaving my family and home when I left. Apart from Spanish, this school offers so much more. Here, not only do you learn Spanish with amazing teachers and a very structured system, but you also gain a sense of community and by the end feel part of the Peruvian society.
In terms of classes, you can choose between private/non-private and morning/afternoon. Based on my experience, I would recommend the non-private morning (9-13) classes, as the private classes can be very exhausting and it can be much more fun with a couple other students with you. The school also does weekly activities after classes, which include a dinner, trivia night, language exchange, and football night. These are great opportunities to meet more people, have fun, and further integrate yourself into Peru. Additionally, the school is able to make your life easier by organizing trips for you, such as a tour of the Sacred Valley or the Salkantay Trek.
However, my favorite part of my stay in Cusco was the host family. I stayed 3 months with Mila and she really has become family. She is not only someone who will cook you the best food, but she is someone who will take you in as if you were her own child, and make your time in Cusco better than anything you could ever ask for.
Thank you so much for this perfect experience. I will never forget it!
- Monday: group dinner
- Tuesday: Trivia
- Wednesday: Language Exchange (at a bar or with students in an international business program)
- Thursday: football (soccer)
- Friday: graduation + fruit tasting/coffee tasting/music.
I loved the language exchanges. They were super helpful for Spanish skills and were a great way to talk to locals about something deeper than just directions/ordering food/etc.
I highly recommend Mundo Antiguo! I loved it so much that I am planning to go back towards the end of my trip.
