The Wariwilca site museum, 6 km from the centre, occupies the area of a city of the Wari Empire (1200 to 800 BC). The place is important because it is considered to be a pacarina, the place of origin of a culture, in this case the Huancas, who would come out of the still visible spring. To the north-east, on the heights, some colcas (silos) of stone and adobe testify to the Wanca past, as well as in Quilcas (12 km) the two citadels still visible and, in Tunanmarca (47 km), we find the remains of the capital of the Wankas (1200-1460) razed by the Incas.
