On a plaza disfigured by a sculpture of a football, this small church, of more humble dimensions, is a masterpiece of what the mixed baroque produced. It was the first church in Villa Rica de Oropesa (the first name of Huancavélica) after its foundation in 1576. It has only one tower with a bell tower. Its façade is very modest, with red stone surrounding a simple wooden door with geometric figures. On its altars are the effigies of the "Lord of the Plagues" and the "Virgin of the Rosary". Sober.
