SAN SEBASTIAN IGLESIA
Three cuadras from the Plaza de Armas, this church, with a purely baroque façade, dates from 1662. The altarpiece, pulpit and central altar are gilded with gold leaf. The ceiling of the right nave is also in gold leaf. The Niño de Lachoc is venerated here and is celebrated with folk dances every year at Christmas. On the minor altar is the Señor del Prendimiento, an articulated sculpture of Christ at the time of his arrest, made of orange wood, 2.06 metres high, with natural hair and glass eyes that is taken out in procession during Holy Week.
