Built in 1713, in the purest Renaissance style, many consider it the most beautiful of the 33 churches in Ayacucho. It has a sober but stretched facade that houses in a niche the stone effigy of San Francisco de Paula. It is flanked by two towers, each with its own belfry, enhanced by domes and peaks that raise it a little higher into the sky. Its altarpiece is abundantly decorated, and its pulpit stands out for its four finely sculpted evangelists.
