IGLESIA DE SANTA CLARA
It is one of the best-worked colonial Catholic temples in the city. The church dates back to the 16th century and is part of the Cultural Heritage of the Nation. To enter, you just have to step over the market vendors, squatting between the stalls. The sober exterior contrasts with the Andalusian interior, where the Mudejar style blazes. It was in this convent that the "Monja Alférez" (the nun lieutenant) doña Catalina de Erauzo, immortalised by José María de Heredia, among other poets, took refuge, her campaigns over but still with her sword in her fist.
