MUSEO DE LA MEMORIA
Created by the Association of the families of the victims and disappeared, this museum retraces 20 years of conflict between the Shining Path and the Peruvian State. It contains a chronology of the conflict, which officially left 70,000 people dead or missing, letters from the victims, a reconstruction of a mass grave and a room where the military tortured suspects. Dozens of poignant photos of women who have lost loved ones call out to the visitor. This small museum allows us to put words to the pain that is still hidden.
