PLAZA DE ARMAS
The object of the visit is the central fountain and its basin, all carved in one piece from stone by the Italian architect Julio Seretti in 1845. This single granite stone is 4 meters high and would have been the object of worship for the inhabitants of the region in pre-Hispanic times. Surrounded by colonial buildings (Municipio, Grand Hotel Huánuco), jacarandas and ficus trees, this square is ideal for a daydream on a bench, at siesta time or when the evening breeze rises. The modern cathedral, on the other hand, stands out.
